I have always been a keen runner and loved keeping fit but I have had problems of varying degrees with my right knee for about 30 years. Last year my knee became so bad it was difficult to walk far and painful to walk up the stairs, clicking and crunching with every step. My daily dog walk became a struggle. After 4 weeks of ice, rest and painkillers I decided to visit Denise. I really thought my running days would be over but Denise reassured me that I would be able to return to running without the need of surgery or causing further damage to my knee. This motivated me to perform the daily strengthening, resistance and endurance exercises to achieve the goals that we set over the course of 12 weeks. I am delighted that my knee now feels the best it has in years, I am back running pain free 5k three times a week and doing long walks with the dogs daily. I have also booked to go skiing in a few weeks time! I will continue to incorporate strengthening exercises daily as the results have been amazing and I now realise the importance of them as well as having a positive attitude and belief.
